The ceremony was held in a very formal atmosphere with the participants of Vinh Long province’s leaders, representatives of Vinh Long Department of Industry and Trade, representatives of EVN and BCG BCG Energy’s board of directors.

VNECO Vinh Long solar farm which is owned by VNECO Vinh Long Solar Energy Limited Company (a subsidiary of BCG Energy - a member of Bamboo Capital Group), officially did a ground-breaking on  November 6th 2020. Til now, this is a quickest below-50-MW solar farm ever been constructed in Vietnam. This project’s total capacity is 49.3 MW, built on 49.7 ha land area whose total investment is 1,156 billion VND. Once the solar farm goes to the operational stage, 70 million kW is generated annualy which is equivalent to 26,000 family power-consumption and a reduction of 19,000 ton of CO2. This project is approved to Vinh Long province’s Power Development Plan for the period of 2016 – 2025, extended to 2035.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Vinh Long province has a radiation potential of about 4.67 kWh/m2 per day. Average annual lighting time reaches 2,550 - 2,700 hours/year. These are favorable conditions for the development of solar power projects in the region. VNECO Vinh Long solar farm is the starting project for solar energy projects in Vinh Long, It will make an important contribution to economic growth, create jobs in the locality, and contribute to stabilizing social security. Furthermore, the project will add abundant energy to the national grid system, ensure energy security, and contribute to the protection of natural resources and the environment.

At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan – CEO of BCG Energy stated that “BCG Energy will commit to the role and responsibility as one of the biggest solar-energy developer in Vietnam. Committing to use advanced technology, protect the environment in the whole operational stage, especially while the replacement & processing of solar panels.”
