BCG Energy is seen as a pioneer developer in Vietnam renewable energy industry through continuously success at building a portfolio of renewable energy assets and being able to raised funds from international investors. Back in 2019, the Company successful raised 5 million USD convertible bonds from Hanwha Energy. This time, through its subsidiary, BCG Energy successfully raised 43.6 million USD equivalent to 1,018 billion VND under convertible bond form from Leader Energy (Vietnam) to continue to invest in renewable energy projects of BCG.
Representatives from both parties who are top leaders participated in the virtual signing ceremony due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony also welcomed representatives from KPMG Singapore and KPMG Vietnam, whose are BCG Energy’s international fundraising consultant.
Receiving growing interests from international investors, BCG Energy has strengthened its brand and reputation through the Company’s capability and orientation in renewable energy industry. In 2019, BCG Energy had successfully put completed the construction and started commercial operations of two solar farm energy projects BCG – CME Long An 1 & 2 (Long An province) with the total capacity of 40.6MW and 100.5MW, respectively. Currently, BCG Energy is also constructing 330MW Phu My solar farm (Binh Dinh province); and 49.3MW VNECO solar farm (Vinh Long province) with expected COD date before December 31st, 2020. Early next year, BCG Energy will start the construction of 50MW Krong Pa 2 solar farm (Gia Lai province). BCG Energy is also developing numerous rooftop solar projects with total capacity of 50MW in various industrial parks in the south region of Vietnam. For wind energy sector, BCG Energy owns a 550MW portfolio in Ca Mau, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces. BCG Energy aims to reach 2.3GW of total capacity of energy projects installed by 2025.
