The Standing Deputy Prime Minister gave a congratulatory speech on the occasion of visiting BCG-CME Long An 1 Solar Power Plant.
40.6MWp BCG-CME Long An 1 Solar Power Plant was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, built on an area of 50.2ha, invested by BCG Bang Duong Energy Joint Stock Company (a member of Bamboo Capital Group) with a total investment of 42 million USD.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam – Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group, BCG-CME Long An 1 Solar Power Plant will be inaugurated on June 23. Once operating, the plant aims to achieve a total output of around 60 million kWh per annum, contributing to increasing the capacity of the national power grid.
Speaking to officials and workers involved in the construction of the BCG-CME Long An 1 Solar Power Plant, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh highly appreciated the significance of the project and said it was an important mark for the development of solar energy in Long An province in particular and Vietnam in general.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the quick implementation of the project has proved the extreme interest of Central ministries, departments and Long An local authorities together with the efforts of investors.
That is even more meaningful when in less than a year, from a barren land, with little agricultural conditions, the joint venture project investors include Bamboo Capital Group, Vietnam – Oman Investment Fund (VOI) and related units have completed a solar power plant with a capacity of 40.6MWp.
Considering that Long An has the potential to develop the solar field, while developing renewable energy is a trend of the world, Deputy Prime Minister suggested the province to continue to promote the development of solar power projects, thereby contributing to promoting the province’s economic development, ensuring national energy security.
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked investors to pay close attention while running the plant in accordance with the order and procedures, especially regarding environment protection in the process of replacing and handling the panels.
On the side of local authorities, it is necessary to create favorable conditions for investors to continue studying, surveying and developing other solar power projects in the area as well as creating conditions for investors to invest in and exploit potential advantages while creating jobs, increasing income for local people and contributing to socio-economic development.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh donated 100 scholarships worth 100 million dong to impoverished students and 100 million to the Education and Talent Promotion Fund of Long An province.
Bamboo Capital Group is a listed company, operating in four areas including agricultural & manufacturing; construction & trading; infrastructure & real estate; and renewable energy. Particularly in Long An, Bamboo Capital proposed three solar projects with a total investment over 5,000 billion dong.
At BCG-CME Long An 1 Solar Power Plant, Bamboo Capital is the unit with dominant capital contribution in the Joint Venture.
Also in Long An, in addition to the BCG-CME Long An 1 project, BCG is currently deploying two other projects, the GAIA project with the capacity of 100MW and the Sunflower project with 50MW.
