The ceremony had the presence of Mr. Truong Tan Sang – Former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Van Canh – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
After 9 months of construction, the plant officially went into commercial exploitation on schedule. 40.6MWp BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, built on an area of 50.2ha, invested by BCG Bang Duong Energy Joint Stock Company (a member of Bamboo Capital Group) with a total investment of 42 million USD.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam – Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group, the plant was made of 123,000 solar panels installed by modern technology and equipment, bringing high capacity efficiency. The panels will absorb the sun’s radiation and convert into electricity to power the electricity transmission system, generating 57 million kWh per annum. This output is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 22,000 households in Vietnam, approximately 16,000 tons of CO2 emissions per annum.

Deputy Chairman of Long An Provincial People’s Committee – Mr. Pham Van Canh highly appreciated the significance of the project and said that this was a milestone of the development of solar energy field in Long An province. At the same time, he required investors to follow the proper process, especially to protect the environment in the process of replacing and handling the battery.
Particularly, Thanh Hoa district will continue to support and create favorable conditions for investors to reassure them to effectively exploit their potential advantages, while creating jobs, raising incomes for local people and contributing to the local socio-economic development.
On this occasion, Mr. Truong Tan Sang – Former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – donated 100 Scholarships (1 million each) to impoverished students in Thanh Hoa and 100 million dong for Long An Education Promotion Fund
Earlier on the afternoon of June 22, 2019, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh – Politburo Commissioner – Standing Deputy Prime Minister also visited BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant. The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated BCG-VOI joint venture’s effort regarding the construction of the plant. On this occasion, he also awarded 100 scholarships to Thanh Hoa district students and donated 100 million to Education and Talent Promotion Fund./.
