In which, 11 bridges were financed by Vietnam Technological and Commercial JSB (Techcombank) with 10 billion VND, the remaining 10.75 billion VND was reciprocal funding from enterprises and other resources from the local people and government. In addition, Bamboo Capital Group sponsored and built 5 bridges with a total value of VND 8.5 billion.

Up to date, the program has finished and put 11 bridges into official operation. The rest is still on completing process.

On behalf of An Giang province and An Phu district in particular, Mr. Le Van Nung, the Vice President of People’s Committee of An Giang province, addressed a sincere gratefulness to the former president Truong Tan Sang, directors of Agricultural Bridge Program and benefactors for the practical contributions, helping the local government in eliminating temporary rural transport bridges in this area.

Former President Truong Tan Sang visited local people

On the same day, the former president Truong Tan Sang, directors of Agricultural Bridge Program and representatives of sponsoring enterprises went to survey the actual location of bridges going to be built in Tri Ton district (An Giang province).

Tri Ton is a rural district located in the southwest of An Giang province, having borders with Cambodia. Most of the locals are ethnic minorities that mainly focus on agricultural production industry.

Former President Truong Tan Sang directly examined the locations.

Local authorities indicated that Tri Ton district currently had the highest rate of poor households in the province (12.45%). One of the reasons preventing the development of the area is undeveloped transportation system, especially rural traffic, in-field traffic. Therefore, the locality hopes businesses and benefactors can support and help in completing the project.
