Department of Agricultural and Rural Development of Dong Nai province approved the policy for the cocoa large-scale field project of Bamboo Capital Joint Stock Company (BCG) on July 04, 2016 in order to develop co-operation and to link production with consumption of agricultural products in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province.

In the project of large-scale field to corporate and link cocoa production with consumption, BCG in combination with co-operatives and farmers in Trang Bom district perform the farming model intercropping cocoa with cashew under the development planning of Dong Nai province. The cocoa farmers who engage in the project will be supported with capital, production technique, infrastructure, etc to achieve sustainable materials sources for their production.

Thanks to natural advantages of appropriate climate, soil and the farmers’ proper growing and caring technique, cocoa has been developed in qualified and sustainable manner after ten years and Vietnam now has potentials to become one of the largest Asian cocoa producers.

From the practical studies on cocoa in Vietnam, on the last May 09, 2016, BCG had a meeting on Cocoa sustainable development and development orientation at Dong Nai province and in Vietnam in general with leaders of Department of Crops Production – MARD, Vice Director of Department of Agricultural and Rural Development of Dong Nai province, Manager of Dong Nai Agricultural Branch and Chocolate Mars Group (Mars). Mars committed to supporting technical training for agricultural staff of the BCG project in Mars Cocoa Development Centers in the region. It is worth noting that Mars also committed to underwrite all cocoa output under the quality criteria of the BCG cocoa project.
