(BCG) - On November 30, Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) was honored under the Corporate Excellence category at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards 2021 Vietnam.
The Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards from Enterprise Asia which is a non-governmental organization, is the region's most prestigious awards for outstanding entrepreneurship, continuous innovation and sustainable leadership. The Award provides a platform for companies and governments to recognize entrepreneurial excellence, hence spurring greater innovation, fair business practices and growth in entrepreneurship.
The Enterprise Asia valued BCG for their sustainable development orientations and contributions in renewable energy sector, reducing emissions and protecting the environment. In addition, BCG's business results, financial audits, and leadership capacities also met the rigorous criteria set by the non-governmental organization.
Amid the shockwaves from the global Covid-19 pandemic, BCG still achieved impressive business results. In the third quarter of 2021, BCG's net revenue reached VND 457 billion, gross profit margin spiked to 94%. After-tax profit increased by 186%, from VND 76 billion in the third quarter of 2020 to VND 218 billion in the same period of 2021. Accumulated in the first nine months, BCG cashed in VND 1,904 billion in revenues, an increase of 112.7%; and VND 701.2 billion in profits after tax, 6.8 times higher than in the same period last year.
BCG's total assets reached VND 35,000 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2021, from VND 24,000 billion at the end of the prior year due to large-scale investment in real estate and renewable energy. Total assets from the renewable energy segment are expected to reach VND 45,000 billion by the end of 2024 with a total capacity of 1.6 GW.
Hydrogen Energy and LNG research demonstrates BCG development orientations in which renewable energy is becoming one of the core business sectors.
To boost renewable energy development, BCG has cooperated with International reputable partners. November 1st, 2021, BCG Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding with turbine maker Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA to secure wind farm equipment worth some USD 400 million. The partnership with Siemens Gamesa will accelerate BCG Energy’s plans to develop more than 500 MW of wind power in Vietnam in the next few years.
Moreover, Hong Duc Industry JSC., part of DEEP C Industrial Zones, Bamboo Capital Group and Sojitz Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the three-party cooperation to develop an industrial park project and ancillary infrastructure services with expected total investment capital of approximately US$250 million in the northern region of Vietnam.

Aside from the award under the Corporate Excellence category of Bamboo Capital Group, Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam - Chairman of BCG was also named as "Master Entrepreneur" by APEA for his contributions to business and social philanthropy.
The award ceremony was held virtually online on November 20, 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. This year, with the “Build Back Better” slogan, APEA has marked the milestone of 15 years of presence in Asia and 5 years in Vietnam.
