On December 14th, Mr. Tran Van Chuyen, Chairman of People’s Committee of Soc Trang Province, along with other provincial leaders have had a meeting with Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) to discuss the potentials of renewable energy projects within the province.
During the meeting, BCG representatives have mentioned that the company plans to research and invest in a wind energy project in Ho Be and another solar project combined with high-tech agriculture.
Ho Be wind energy project is located in the coastal alluvial area of Vinh Chau Town with a total expected capacity of 300 MW. There will be 6 wind power plants with a total investment of 600 million USD.
Another solar energy project combined with high-tech agriculture has an expected area of 200 hectares in Thanh Tri District with a total investment of 115 million USD, in which a sweet potato starch processing plant and a high-yield potato field will be invested with 15 million USD.
Mr. Tran Van Chuyen has also shared with BCG about investment opportunities and potential locations for other wind and solar energy projects in Soc Trang Province. After the meeting, the Chairman has requested that relevant departments should facilitate the investors to expedite the procedures for all potential projects.
Once approved, it is expected that the site survey will be quickly conducted by BCG. There will be a pre-feasibility report followed and sent to the People’s Committee leaders.
