09/17/2018

(BCG) On September 16th, 2018, the groundbreaking ceremony for Long An’s first solar farm has been attended by Former President Truong Tan Sang, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; Chairman of Long An People’s Council Pham Van Ranh, and Chairman of Long An People’s Committee Tran Van Can.

Mr. Tran Van Can states that: “This is the first solar farm project in Long An Province, also an essential step forward for Long An’s new energy development program. Long An is pleased to welcome renewable energy projects, including the 40 MW solar farm project of BCG Bang Duong Energy JSC. We hope that this solar farm will build a strong foundation for more solar farms to come to Long An.”

BCG Bang Duong Energy JSC, a subsidiary of Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), is the project owner with a total investment of 42 million USD. The project has been approved by Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade with a total capacity of 40.6 MW, executed on a total area of 50.2 hectares. Commercial Operation Date (COD) is expected to be early June 2019.

Once completed, the project aims to generate an annual amount of 60 million kWh electricity output, contributing to the National Grid’s total capacity. Furthermore, the project also includes building a 110kV substation for Thanh Hoa District, road infrastructure, pumping system for reservoirs and a 9-kilometer transmission line.

Transport and Industry Development Investment JSC (TRACODI), a subsidiary of BCG, will be the civil works contractor for the project with an estimated construction cost of 5 million USD.

On behalf of BCG Bang Duong JSC, BCG Chairman Nguyen Ho Nam has informed that there will be various world leading partners involved with specific expertise in engineering, construction and environmental consulting. In particular, Syntegra Solar from Germany will participate in the designing and supervising processes. The project will be using polycrystalline solar panels with the efficiency ratio of up to 18.1% (compared to the industry standard of 16%), thereby cutting down on land utilization. In addition, the panels cleaning system will be fully automated in order to cut down on manpower as well as to enhance the overall productivity.

Apart from this project, BCG is deploying another two solar farms in Long An Province which are GAIA and Sunflower with a total capacity of 150 MW.

Last but not least, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has also granted two charity houses to Thanh Hoa District with a total value of 120 million VND on this special occasion.
