Power Purchase Agreement Signing between BCG Bang Duong Energy and Electricity Power Trading Company

(BCG) On October 29th, 2018, BCG Bang Duong Energy JSC, a subsidiary of Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), has signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Electricity Power Trading Company (EPTC), a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), for the 40 MW solar farm project in Long An Province.

The project is wholly owned by BCG Bang Duong Energy JSC with a total investment size of 42 million USD. In Vietnam, EPTC is assigned to be the sole off-taker and distributor of electricity for the whole country.

According to the Decision No.11/2017/QĐ-TTg on April 11th, 2017, the uniform feed-in tariff will be 0.0935 USD/kWh and applied to those projects reaching commercial operation before June 30th, 2019 with a duration of 20 years.

On September 16th, 2018, BCG Bang Duong Energy’s ground-breaking ceremony for the 40 MW solar farm project took place in Thanh Hoa District, Long An Province. The project has been approved by Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) with a total capacity of 40.6 MW on a total area of 50.2 hectares. Commercial Operation Date (COD) is expected to be in early June 2019 and once completed, the project targets to generate an electricity output amount of 60 million kWh per year.

Aside from this project, BCG is also launching other two solar farms in Long An Province which are GAIA and Sunflower with a total capacity of 150 MW. Moreover, BCG plans to expand its pipeline into Quang Nam Province with two floating solar projects on Phu Ninh and Khe Tan lakes with a total capacity of up to 400 MW.
