BCG & Bang Duong Consortium Has Been Approved to Invest in the Project of Upgrading and Expanding Interstates 830 & 824 – Long An Province in the Form of BOT

10/18/2016

Interstates 830 & 824 connect with both Duc Hoa and Ben Luc Towns. Being the main traffic flow that supports socio-economic development for areas around Ho Chi Minh City, these Interstates link the dynamic industrial parks with Highway 1A and Long An Port along the currently invested Ben Luc – Tan Tap Road.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam, Chairman of BCG, received the Certified investment license on the BOT project of Interstates 830 & 824 at Long An Investment Promotion Conference 2016

Currently, Interstate 830 in general or the stretch of road from Trung Luong Highway to An Thanh Bridge, Ben Luc Town, Ben Luc District, Long An Province in particular has become overloaded as this is the main traffic road for transport of goods from industrial clusters. Both traffic and density of vehicles are very heavy especially during peak hours while the existing road has only two traffic lanes. Therefore, investing in road expansion is essential and is one of the key projects in Long An Province for the period of 2016 – 2020.

Current state of Interstate 830

In order to meet the socio-economic development by connecting transport infrastructures between Long An and Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to upgrade Interstate 830 into a secondary road to meet the demand for freight and passengers, to reduce the transport distance, to cut costs, to ensure safety and convenience, to minimize traffic accidents and to limit environmental pollution.

Highly appreciating the importance of the project that would contribute to improving economic efficiency for local community, BCG has formed a Consortium with Bang Duong Investment – Construction – Trading Co., Ltd to participate in the project bidding in the form of BOT from Km1+502,69 (on Interstate 830) to Km5+134,11 (on Interstate 824) with a total length of about 23 kilometers. The project has an estimated total investment of 1,079 billion VND (or 48 million USD) and is scheduled for completion in 2018. BCG participated in the Consortium with a capital contribution ratio of 48%. The Consortium of investors will construct the entire project and will be entitled to charging fees for a period of 18 years.

TRACODI, a subsidiary of BCG who specializes in the field of infrastructure construction, also plans to participate and to be the main contractor for this project. BCG’s investment in this Interstate 830 project is the beginning of BCG’s medium-and-long-term development strategy in the field of transport infrastructure. Once completed, the project will enhance regional connectivity for transport infrastructure, thereby attract investments and promote economic development in Long An Province.
